Loose Diamonds

Loose diamonds, sold unset, natural mined and lab grown side by side. Buy the exact stone first, cut, carat, clarity, all stated plainly, then decide what to do with it.

Loose Diamonds at Perrara

Buy the Stone. Decide the Rest Later.

Most jewelry stores sell you a finished piece and the stone comes wherever it comes from. Here you can do it backward: pick the loose stone itself, then set it, hold it, or bring it to us to build something around. Cuts range widely, round, oval, pear, marquise, radiant, cushion, even the vintage English cut, so this is a genuine browse, not a single signature shape. It's tough picking just one.

Both origins live on this page, and neither is the collection default. Our lab grown stones are IGI-certified and laser-inscribed, VVS to VS clarity, graded D to F color, exactly what's on the label. Our natural stones are cut-graded, with clarity and color stated per stone, some carrying an appraised value instead of a lab certificate depending on the piece. Check the individual listing; don't assume either origin walking in.

Tell us the shape, size and budget you have in mind and we will pull real stones with real numbers, no pressure either direction. Every stone here ships anywhere in Canada, so wherever you are, the hard part is only ever deciding, not getting your hands on it.

Questions we actually get

Straight answers from the people on the floor

What diamond cuts are available as loose stones?

A genuinely wide range: round brilliant, oval, pear, marquise, radiant, cushion and even the vintage English cut show up in this collection, not just the popular round. If you already know the shape you want, filter to it; if you don't, that's exactly the kind of question worth texting us before you scroll through all of it.

What's the difference between natural and lab grown loose diamonds here?

Chemically, nothing; both are real diamonds. The natural stones on this page are cut-graded with clarity and color stated per stone. The lab grown stones are IGI-certified and laser-inscribed, typically graded VVS to VS clarity and D to F color, so the paperwork differs even though the stone itself is the same material either way.

How much do loose diamonds cost?

It depends entirely on the four things that set any diamond's price: carat, cut, clarity and color, plus whether it's natural or lab grown, which moves the number significantly. There is no single "loose diamond price," which is exactly why we'd rather send you real options for your actual budget than quote a number that means nothing without the stone attached.

Can you set a loose diamond into a ring or earrings?

Yes, that is the whole reason to buy loose. Once you have chosen the stone, we can set it into one of our engagement settings, drop it into a pair of studs, or build something around it from scratch with our goldsmith. Bring a stone in or buy one here; either way, the setting is a separate step once the diamond is yours.
